THE Education Department has recognised 26 high and secondary schools in the country who have put in a lot of effort to improve their academic performance.
Secretary Dr Uke Kombra presented the Best Academic Performing School and the Most Improved School awards to these schools based on the grade 10 and grade 12 examination results.
The top 10 academic performing schools for grade 10 are
Oksapmin High School in West Sepik,
St Charles Lwanga High (NCD),
Gordon Secondary School (NCD),
Cameron Secondary School (Milne Bay),
Jubilee Catholic Secondary (NCD), Manus Secondary (Manus),
Busu Secondary (Morobe),
Mercy Secondary (East Sepik),
Mt Hagen Secondary (WHP).
The five most improved schools for grade 10 are
Kompiam High School (Enga),
Sacred Heart Tapini Secondary (Central), Misima High (Milne Bay),
Kiriwina High (Milne Bay) and
Yano High (Central)
